Tony & Gin's Wedding |
December 1999 |
| We found ourselves in an odd predicament as to where
we should get married. Ginger's family was in Oklahoma, mine with in New
York and New Jersey. Where could we get married without getting someone
upset because they could not come. Our decision was to get married in England
so that it would just be the two of us thereby avoiding the issue of leaving
anyone out. The problem was that in order to get married in Europe, you
need to set up residency. Our solution was to have a legal service in Illinois
and then exchange vows in England. We had the service at the base of the
Evanston light house on the shores of Lake Michigan -- just 3 blocks from
our coach house in Evanston. Ginger had the chaplain from Rainbow Hospice
preside and her friend Sue Abananti was there as witness. We then returned
to the coach house for a champagne toast and had dinner at Treo in Evanston.
A few days later we left for England and eventually exchanged vows in the
shadow of the ferris wheel in the middle of Paris. |
